656 Comics is currently attending Angouleme, which is the largest comic book convention in all of Europe! It's like SDCC except "better?"

Well it's in France, you have to have a body of work that is significant, and you gotta trek all the way to France for a fun filled week of comics and art in one of the most beautiful areas of France wherein the whole city of Angouleme is dedicated to nothing but sequential art and all it consists of!

So 656 was accepted to participate in this years 37th annual festival and the lone 656er, one of the main architects of INFESTACION is currently making it known that the Juarez and El Paso area can hang with the best of them!

El Paso in Comics II

On February 23, 2010, UTEP will host the second-annual “El Paso in the Comics” event,
The UTEP Union Templeton Suite will be the site of a creator’s roundtable from 4:00-6:00pm.

During this time, the public can interact directly with comics creators from El Paso and Juarez; 656 Comics, Adversary Comix, Jimmy Daze Comics and Broken Tree Comics. Later in the evening (7:00-9:00pm) the event will shift to the Union Cinema, also in the University Union, where independent comics writer/artist Jaime Hernandez will deliver a keynote address.

If you are in the area and you want to meet some of the artists who are changing the face of sequential art in the El Paso/Juarez area, be sure to attend and come with questions, cuz we got plenty of answers!

Our current offering INFESTACION: THE MYTHOLOGY will be on sale in its Trade Paperback form, and all of the creators involved will be on hand to answer all your zomb-rific questions and wax philo-zombical!

We got word from our inside sources and the prestigious COMICS JOURNAL is currently reviewing INFESTACION: THE MYTHOLOGY.

Apparently this book is garnering alot of interests from other sources that I cannot discuss at present time (but trust me if you only knew who, you would be floored!)

COMICS JOURNAL will be releasing the review in a few weeks and I will keep you updated when it comes out!

The year is just beginning and we are already rolling towards even bigger things!
